The Economic Freedom Fighters advised that Africans must seek to support each other and also fight for each other. Divisive actions and any form of fighting among Africans will only divide the continent
It was emphatic that there can be no justification for violently attacking fellow black Africans, looting and vandalizing their properties.
Although calm has been restored, the leadership of the South African government has vowed to identify and prosecute persons found guilty. Africans will love to receive continues progress reports on the matter to ensure it does not end up being a “cheap talk” but that, the government will walk the talk as a form of respect to countries and their citizens who suffered.
The EFF Africa is of the view that the current economic problems facing South Africa are not the making of African immigrants.
It, however, holds the view that decades of looting of South Africa’s natural resources by imperialist could be pointed to as the cause of the woes of problems South Africa today.
The EFF Africa, therefore, called on the government of South African to take decisive action to address the root causes of such violent acts.
It also wants the government to ensure the protection of African immigrants in South Africa becomes a paramount concern for the government.
it said” To our South African brothers and sisters, other Africans are not the cause of high unemployment, poor government policies or economic inequalities in your country. The imperialists who are still controlling the bulk of the economy in South Africa are the cause of economic and social inequalities. We urge you to robustly engage your political leaders to address these issues constructively.
We remain resolute that a borderless Africa is the way forward. Africa is one continent and we are one people. We need to join hands and fight for economic freedom for the whole of Africa.
