Kumasi Asante Kotoko defied all odds to beat bragging Kano Pillars at the Baba Yara sports stadium in Kumasi by 2 goals to nil.

The Wo kum apim aa, apim beba lads got off with a fantastic start with a goal 5 mins into the game from Kelvin Andoh. They outplayed and dictated the game through the first 45 minutes. A second goal at the hour mark was ruled offside in the second half. 

By virtue of this win, Kotoko has qualified for the last stage of the CAF champions league preliminary round on 4-3 goal aggregate. The coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Kjetil Zachariassen is making things happen for Kotoko.

Emmanuel Gyamfi sent the Asante Kotoko fans into a frenzy 11 minutes from time with a delightful goal just after he lunched on to a stunning chested pass from Naby Keita. At this point, Kono Pillers knew they were in big trouble and had no pillars to support need draw to push the game further any longer.

The African Club of the 20th Century, Kumasi Asante Kotoko want to prove a point by entering the money zone of the CAF champions league. The team is two games away from achieving that feat without a league season in Ghana.
