The accident in kumasi which lead to one victim dead, three in critical conditions

On Tuesday,18th March,2025 in the morning,a commercial vehicle losed it balance,skip the road and crashed into roadside traders at the Dr.Mensah Market(to be precised,the station) due to brake failure.
It was noticed that due to the brake failure,the vehicle bumped into the roadside traders causing one victim to pass away and three to be badly injured leaving them in a critical condition.
Upon seeing this,the eye witnessed people rushed to aid these affected victims before the emergency respond team arrived.They victims where taken to the Manhyia Government Hospital in Kumasi for urgent medical treatment.
The commercial vehicle had the car number plate to be registered as GR-1502-09.It was detected that the driver was drunk before driving the vehicle.
Based on expressions from both the passersby and standbys revealed that one woman’s leg was amputated and another had her face to be badly wounded.
Others stressed on the fact that the government should come to the aid of the market traders and as well laying down policies towards the solving of the matter.
The government should create a barrier which will prevent the traders from sitting near the road and that it can help minimise accident at Dr.Mensah Market.
The driver of the commercial vehicle has been been arresed for further interogation needed for the smooth investigation taken place.
Currently various goods has been damaged leaving the traders in losses.This sudden news has brought shocks throughout the community leaving people in slight fear.
