Journalist Kevin Taylor has descended on Electoral Commission chairperson Jean Mensah labeling her an “incompetent Slay Queen” who could plunge Ghana into chaos due to her lack of knowledge and bias.
“Has she conducted herself to deserve any respect or confidence? He asked on his show “with all due respect”.
“We have allowed foolishness to cloud our brains… the Electoral Commission needs to reinvent itself to become a truly independent umpire of elections before the 2020 elections else it will create serious problems or in fact, there will be war in this country,” he said
According to him, Ghanaians have no confidence in the electoral commission under Madam Jean Mensah whom he called “an incompetent slay queen”
According to him, an Israeli company, Super Tech Ltd (STL) handling Ghana’s biometric database for several years is being taken off its deal for an individual to take over.
“Microsoft has administrator’s password to their software, etc. so why does she want to hand over the EC Information infrastructure password to only one person by collecting it from the Israeli company, Super Tech Ltd (STL) that has been handling the biometric database of the voters’ register for several years or since its inception?” He asked.
‘Troublesome’ Kevin Taylor
Mr. Kevin Taylor who is a member of the ruling NPP has been causing trouble for the government since Akufo-Addo’s election in 2017.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) filed a formal complaint with the New York Times in July this year over an attempt by one of its employees Marisa Schwartz Taylor and her husband (Kevin), to damage the reputation of President Akufo-Addo.
A letter addressed to the Africa Editor of the New York Times, Laurie Goodstein, accused Mrs. Taylor a female photojournalist working with the paper, and her Ghanaian husband, Kevin Taylor, of producing a series of video documentaries to peddle falsehood against the President and members of his government.
Nothing came out of it. Lawyer Ace Ankomah who sued the New-York based Ghanaian journalist for defamation has also gone silent since.
