BEEFING is destroying Ghana due to bitterness and envy

Thank us later after reading the reasons why we must stop entertaining BEEFING in Ghana and focus our energies and resources into productive ventures.
There is too much wickedness, jealousy, backbiting, snitching, treachery and selfishness in this world. But, it seems these negative human attributes have gone a notch higher in Ghana.
No one; from religious leaders, politicians, comedians, bloggers, celebrities(what ever that means), musicians, the rich to the poor, have no trust for each other.
The Ghanaian society, have in recent times, been bedevilled with personality clashes coined ‘beef’. If you thought this beef is anything close to our usual delicious nantwi nam, then you’re as innocent as a well fed sleeping ? two months old baby.
‘Beef’ or ‘beefing’ in this regard means, two or more people insulting, threatening, maligning and castigating one another. One basic characteristics for these ‘beefs’ is that, they in one way or the other find space in the media and are given the necessary prominence and attention.
Examples of recent high ranking ‘beefs’ include; Sarkodie vrs Shatta, Funny Face vrs Kojo Nkansah, Bismarck de joke and Kalyboss, Sam George vrs Atik Mohammed, Sarkodie vrs Asem, Kennedy Agyapong vrs Obinim, Kelvin Taylor vrs Kennedy Agyapong, Kweku Annan vrs Magraheb, Rev. Owusu Bimpah vrs Avram Ben Moshey, Afia Shwar vrs Akua GMB, just to name a few.
The internet has served as a medium through which these individuals exhibit how acidic their tongues can be. They are quick to do live coverages of their actions on various social media platforms, undermining the basic principles (educate, inform and entertain) for which these platforms were created. I stand to be educated on how posting these ‘beefs’ on these platforms benefit these individuals.
Not too long ago, one of Ghana’s long standing ‘beef’; between Shatta and Stonebyow nearly ended in a fatality when, at a VGMA organised by Charter House, one of the actors pulled a gun on stage. However, the increase in these personality clashes indicate that, no lessons were learnt.
But the question is, are these ‘beefing’ individuals to blame for their actions? We call them our heroes and heroines and the call us their fun base. We their so called fun base support them foolishly and they in turn confuse us that, loyalty is everything. But, how long are we (fun base) going to look on for this moral decadence eat up our social and moral uprightness?
To our ‘beefing’ society, ‘If you like, say FIIM and you will see what I will do to you’, is mediocre and backwardness. National cohesion should be their focal point. Most of them are privileged and should use their enviable positions to promote things that will ensure the forward move of our nation, instead of washing their dirty linens in public.
And to we those who they refer to as their fun base, it is long overdue we let them know that, our loyalty comes with a price; the price of uniting us than sawing seeds of division amongst us
Beefing in Ghana must stop now…
