The National Democratic Congress (NDC) heads to the 10th National Congress on 17th December 2022, to elect its national party leaders.
“CARE” Ghana as a result has called for the attention of the members of the NDC to be obligatory towards consolidating the democracy of Ghana.
In a press statement available to ghlense.net, the Executive Director for Care For Free and Fair Elections Ghana, David Kumi Addo, said:
“One of the key pillars of any thriving democracy is strong and resilient political parties whether in government or in opposition.
Indeed Political parties are instruments for social dialogue that foster consensus to advance a reliant democracy. Similarly, elections are pivotal and crucial to the building and organisation of political parties.
A flawed internal elections thus have the potential of undermining the strength of the Party and by extension democracy at large.”
