One Week Observation for Late John Kumah Announced
The community of Ejisu-Onwe in the Ashanti Region and members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are set to observe a significant customary rite in Ghanaian culture, marking one week Observation since the passing of the Ejisu Member of Parliament, John Ampontuah Kumah, on Thursday, March 28, 2024.
This event is not just a traditional observance but a moment for collective mourning, reflection, and celebration of the life and contributions of the late Deputy Finance Minister.
Kwasi Owusu Twumasi, the spokesperson for the late MP’s family, made the announcement during a solemn visit to President Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House.
Accompanied by NPP executives, including the General Secretary, Frimpong Justin Kodua, the delegation officially communicated the unfortunate news of Kumah’s demise to the President and extended an invitation to him to participate in the one-week observation ceremony.
President Akufo-Addo, deeply moved by the news, assured the grieving family and party members of his attendance, reflecting on the profound loss of John Kumah.
He expressed his sorrow, describing the death as “painful and bitter,” and reminisced about Kumah’s vibrancy and potential as a young leader within the political landscape of Ghana.
