North Tongu MP urges Ghanaian Universities to initiate scholarship regimes for Ukraine Student returnees

With the recent brouhaha caused by the clash between Ukraine and Russia after the invasion of the latter in the latter days of February, lives and livelihoods have been lost throwing the whole country into mayhem.
Foreign students have also been affected by the invasion and mayhem. A lot of them have managed to cross borders and have been sheltered by the neighboring countries of Ukraine.
Per various reports, Ghanaian students in Ukraine have been offered the opportunity by countries such as Hungary, Canada and Bulgaria to continue with their studies.
Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has called on the various universities in Ghana to take up the mandate and not just follow suit but also offer the student returnees scholarships to study in the country.
He emphasizes on the trauma suffered by them and claims it will be better for them to continue to study in Ghana than abroad with so much instability in the global economy.
