NDC on fire as agent tears and chews votes in Tema West
A gentleman who is yet to be identified has been arrested by the police at the Tema West Constituency where the NDC is holding one of its numerous elections to elect parliamentary candidates for the 2020 election. This sad event took place at the Tema East constituency about twnety minutes into the counting of valid votes casted by NDC delegates.
According to news monitored by Newsghana24.com on Asempa FM, the man picked several of the votes counted and sorted based on the candidates contesting and started scattering them around. He went ahead to tear them and stuffed them in his mouth. He is suspected to be an agent of one of the contestants.
The delegates and persons present at the polling station screamed to draw the attention of the police. Attempts to arrest him by the police was not that easy as he tried to resist arrest.

While the police and onlookers tried to stop him, he kept stuffing his mouth with the ballot papers which had the votes of one of the contesting candidates.
The police in an attempt to arrest the gentleman turned into a huge battle. The man sustained serious wounds on his forehead in the process as blood gashed out freely.
He was overpowered, handcuffed and whisked away by the police probably first to the nearest health facility to receive an emergency treatment before been taken to the police station to press the needed charges against him.
The have been a few challenges during today’s election process.
The NDC primaries is being contested by 524 aspirants in 157 constituencies across the country. The National Democratic Congress has, however, put on hold elections in places like Asawase and Ellembelle constituencies plus some other three constituencies as a result fo various petitions from aspirants
In addition, six (6) aspirants who were expected to contest in the election have also been disqualified days to the match awaited poll.
