Nana Adjei Baffour Awuah Emerges Winner to replace Napo
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced Nana Adjei Baffour Awuah, a private legal practitioner as the winner of its parliamentary primary election for the Manhyia South constituency.
The primary election was held on Sunday, July 14, 2024, and saw Baffour Awuah securing an impressive 376 votes.
In a closely contested race, Baffour Awuah outpaced his closest contender, Nana Owusu Prempeh, the brother of the outgoing Member of Parliament (Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh), who garnered 141 votes. Other contenders, James Owusu and Akwasi Coker Gyambibi, received seven votes and one vote, respectively.
The primary election was necessitated by the unanimous endorsement of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the running mate to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
This development marked a significant shift in the political landscape of the Manhyia South constituency.

With a Postgraduate Degree in Advance Corporate and International Trade Law Practice from BPP Law School, United Kingdom, and called to the bar by the honorable Society of Lincolns Inn, England and Wales, Baffour Awuah has a wealth of experience in corporate governance, shareholder rights, and corporate and commercial litigations.
His profile reveals that he has advised on various corporate matters, including company incorporations, corporate governance, and shareholder rights.
