Meta announces new features for Instagram Reels: Edit videos, track trends with ease
The new set of tools announced by Meta will let creators measure the performance and reach of their Instagram Reels.
Meta-owned popular photo-sharing application, Instagram, is back with some exciting features. The company has recently announced some interesting features that can aid in creating Instagram Reels.
The platform has now added a dedicated destination for users to find inspiration through trending audio and hashtags on Instagram Reels. Besides, users will now be able to use two new metrics – total and average watch times on Reels to help them gauge the performance of their reels. Another feature brings fans’ gifts to creators.
Follow the trend
Since creators are always on the lookout for new ideas, the latest dedicated destination on the platform will be a great tool for users to track the latest trends. According to Meta, the destination will allow users to see top trending songs on Reels and how many times the same has been used. Users will be able to use the audio and also save it for themselves.
Editing Reels is easy now
Meta has said that Instagram users will now be able to bring together video clips, stickers, audio, or text for editing in a single screen. This will add to the ease of editing Reels and help users to showcase their creations as they envisioned them. While these tools are great additions, Meta has asked its vast user base to watch out for more such features that it will be rolling out in the future to help with editing Reels. The feature is now available all over the world on iOS and Android devices.
More for Reel Insights
To improve Reel Insights, Meta has now added two more metrics, total watch time and average watch time, making it easier to see the insights. Total watch time shows the total amount of time a Reel was played, including time spent on it. On the other hand, average watch time shows the average time spent playing the reel, which is essentially calculated by dividing watch time by the number of total plays.
Gifts on Reels
Meta has also introduced Gifts on Reels to more creators. Another related feature shows creators whose fans have sent them gifts. Creators will be able to tap on the heart icon next to their supporters to let them know that they have received and see the gifts.
