Nam1’s Menzgold office in East Legon has been taken over by Metallic Refinery owned by the same person. A quick check online shows no trace of online presence for the new company. Menzgold customers have ignited their call for the arrest of Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM1), CEO of the now-defunct Menzgold Company Limited after he made claims that, he has paid customers a whopping GH₵9.6 million to customers. Angry customers of the now-defunct Menzgold led by Mr. Godfrey Ankoman -Spokesperson has vowed to vote against the ruling NPP if it fails to act swiftly in their favour. The fact that Nam1 is walking around freely is enough to make them pissed off by the lack of interest of the government in their case.
Honourable Kenndey Agyepong who turns 60 today made a stalling revelation that suggested the government and the law enforcement agencies cannot prosecute NAM1 because there is no banking law governing his activities which were deemed fraudulent.
According to Metallic Refinery, it is buying gold at 5% higher than the market price which makes it attractive, however, this company belongs to NAM1 who should have been jailed by now and his assets sold to pay off suffering customers.
If this is all government can do, then it would have been better to live Menzgold to operate while using the law to compel it to do the right things rather than collapsing it and remaining insensitive to the plight of investors.
Well, it seems this government is good at destroying what it deems to be spoiling rather than remedying the situation to alleviate and mute the suffering of the masses.
However, one wonders why the government is remained silent while, customers go through the ordeal of not getting their fund back. If the activities of Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM1) we criminal what is holding back the police and BNI who are chasing over a pastor for threatening one live when the actions of Nam1 and the government continues to threaten more lives and generations unborn?
From Menzgold’s iconic gold colour to a pure white appearance for the Metallic Refinery, the latter is poised to add value to nature. However, it has metamorphized from a heartbreaking business. One wonders if Ghanaians would have learned any lesson from the activities of Menzgold to help them avoid Metallic Refinery for good. However, investment gurus say, when the risk is high, the returns are high enough to compensate investors. Ghanaians never learn many will surely invest in and do business with Metallic Refinery.
