McBrown, Emelia Brobbey, Akrobeto and Kwaku Manu hate Lilwin- Kumawood Director
The Ghanaian film industry, affectionately known as Kumawood, has long been a vibrant source of entertainment in West Africa, celebrated for its unique storytelling and charismatic stars.
However, beneath the surface of this cinematic powerhouse, there are underlying rifts that sometimes overshadow the camaraderie typically associated with the industry.
One such revelation has recently come to light, thanks to Kumawood movie director and producer, Famous, who shed some light on the apparent animosity existing between some of the industry’s biggest names and actor-comedian, Lilwin.
In an interview on One Ghana Television, closely monitored by Ghoage.com, Famous exposed a simmering feud that has seen popular figures like McBrown, Emelia Brobbey, Akrobeto, and Kwaku Manu absent from Lilwin’s productions.
According to Famous, this exclusion is not a matter of oversight or scheduling conflicts but a clear indication of dislike towards Lilwin.
This revelation is particularly striking given Lilwin’s stature in the industry, not just as an actor but also as a producer and musician, known for his versatility and comedic genius.
For the past five years, Lilwin has been at the helm of his movie projects, yet, as Famous points out, his efforts to include his colleagues in these ventures have been met with refusal.
The question that begs an answer is, why? What could have led to such a stark division among colleagues who have, in the past, worked closely together on numerous projects? While Famous stopped short of delving into the specifics of the grievances held against Lilwin, the implication of his statements is clear: there is a notable lack of unity and support within the Kumawood scene.
This situation raises broader concerns about the impact of such feuds on the industry as a whole.
The absence of collaboration between some of its most celebrated stars not only limits the creative potential of Kumawood films but also paints a picture of an industry fragmented by personal disputes.
As viewers, we can only hope that these talented individuals can find a way to bridge their differences.
After all, the strength of Kumawood lies not just in its ability to entertain but in its capacity to bring together diverse talents to tell the stories that resonate with and reflect the Ghanaian spirit.
