MAJOR BREAKING: Ansu Fati Will Leave Barcelona This Summer

It is official and confirmed: Ansu Fati will leave Barcelona this summer after spending 5 and a half years in the first team.

According to reliable reports, Fati played his last home game for Barcelona vs. Villareal on Sunday afternoon. The Catalans lost 3-2 to the Submarines. Although heartbreaking, Ansu Fati will leave Barcelona this summer.

The La Masia graduate who was once anointed as Leo Messi’s successor by receiving the iconic number 10 jersey will leave his boyhood club at the end of the season. He is currently among the players with the highest salaries.

Ansu Fati was once valued at 80 million Euros which saw him being hailed as one of the top young prospects in the sports, but over recent times, his value has dropped to as low as 5 million Euros. This has been as a result of several injuries that has driven away his drive on the field, hence, poor performance when given the chance.

Since returning on loan from Brighton, he has only played 186 minutes as a Barcelona player under Hans-Dieter Flick without any goal involvement. He currently earns 14 million Euros annually, which makes him the third-highest earner in the club.

Lamine Yamal is set to take over the iconic number 10 shirt from Fati after his departure. During the January transfer window, many clubs approached him for a possible transfer, but the player rejected them in order to stay and try to convince the coach to get more minutes. Since then, he has been plunged with numerous injuries and less play time.

Already a star for this Barcelona team, Lamine Yamal will assume the number 10 shirt from next season. So far this season, Yamal has had 19 goals and 25 assists across all competitions, and undoubtedly has been a big game player with his sensational plays. He is currently the favourite to win the Ballon d’or, ahead of Ousmane Dembélé and Raphinha Belloli.

Several clubs, especially from Turkey and Saudi, are interested in signing Ansu Fati. Barcelona wish to offload him on a permanent deal with a buy-back clause.
