List of purported properties and ‘fraudulent’ transactions connected to Kwabena Adu-Boahene
Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB)
As per the investigations into Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB), Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine has revealed details of notable properties and assets obtained by Kwabena Adu-Boahene.
These notable properties, said to have been bought with income from transactions that raised concerns, extend across desirable areas in Ghana and abroad.
The properties delineated in the investigation include:
1. No. 2 Stream Part Drive, Mayfair Estates, LA, Accra: A sum of $1,000,000 ( amounting to GH¢15,000,000) was allocated for this estate. Associated deposit documents and receipts have been tracked.
2. No. 6 Edith Avenue, Mayfair Estates, LA, Accra: A deposit of $500,000 was accurately entered for this property.
3. No. 7 Edith Avenue, Mayfair Estates, LA: $200,000 was paid in for this property.
4. No. 8 Edith Avenue, Mayfair Estates, LA: An initial deposit of $97,815 was made, with officials suspecting another cash payments were used to complete the acquisition.
5. No. 9 Edith Avenue, Mayfair Estates, LA, Accra: A deposit of $270,000 was noted.
6. No. 10 Edith Avenue, Mayfair Estates, LA, Accra: The amount of money paid in for this property totals $150,000.
The investigation also further found Mr Kwabena Adu-Boahene’s ownership of Vertex Properties, a company connecteda to the suspected embezzlement. Vertex Properties is said to have 27 houses located in Oyarifa, with each house worth $295,000.
Apart from Ghana, Investigators have traced two additional properties in London, even though essential details concerning these assets are yet to be disclosed.
Dr Dominic Ayine stated during the time he was addressing journalists in Accra on Monday that, the significant financial investment for these acquisitions shows a strong link with the suspect’s suspected wrongdoing while holding the position of NSB Director.
Dr Dominic Ayine declared that “The funds generated by the suspect’s actions were used to buy valuable land assets both in Ghana and elsewhere.” The investigation seeks to reclaim stolen funds and make sure accountability for any questionable financial transactions.
