Key issues in Nana Addo’s 6th COVID-19 Address
For the sixth time since Ghana recorded the first COVID-19 case, the President has addressed the nation. In Nana Addo’s 6th COVID-19 address, he showed gratitude to the people of Ghana and said he was proud to be the leader of this nation during this period.

In his statement, he revealed that our fight against COVID-19 was guided by data and 3 Ts – Tracing, testing & treating.
Ghana has 378 confirmed cases out of which some 79% of them are imported cases. Currently, some 37000 plus samples have been taken in contact tracing.
Out of 11.3k tested in Accra, 52 positive were reported while we reported 25 positives out of 3.1k cases suggesting limited community spread.
In Nana Addo’s 6th COVID-19 address, he added that Ghana’s efforts have been fairly successful and effective. However, Ghana’s borders will remain shut until further notice since we are not out of the woods yet.
He called for continued patience as Ghana extends the partial lockdown in Accra, Kumasi, and Kasoa by one more week.
Announcing new government interventions, he said the government of Ghana will absorb water bills for all Ghanaians for the April – June in addition to electricity bills for lifeline consumers (0-50kwh) also 50% of the bills of all Ghanaians and industry and service sector (based on their Mar bill) but people urged Ghanaians to be disciplined in their consumption.
The government is also working with NADMO & faith-based organizations in the distribution of food to the vulnerable; people should continue to exercise good personal hygiene.
He called on all to respect the role of the security services enforcing law and order and thanked all organizations and countries for their generosity extended to Ghana in the COVID-19 fight.
