Kenya begins issuance of Free Electronic Travel Authorizations to Ghana

The Kenyan government has announced the issuance of Electronic Travel Authorizations (ETAs) for Ghanaian citizens for free. Effective June 19, 2024, Ghanaian travelers will no longer require a visa to enter Kenya, and instead, will need to obtain an ETA before their departure.
This development is a direct result of the existing visa-free regime agreement between Ghana and Kenya, aimed at facilitating easier travel between the two countries. To take advantage of this new process, Ghanaian citizens must submit their ETA applications through the official website www.etakenya.go.ke for approval.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has urged traveling public to take note of this new requirement and comply accordingly to ensure a seamless travel experience. In a statement, the ministry emphasized the importance of staying informed through official channels for further information and updates on this development.

The introduction of ETAs is a significant step forward in enhancing the ease of travel between Kenya and Ghana. By streamlining the process, the Kenyan government aims to promote tourism, trade, and cultural exchange between the two nations.

The ministry has also assured that the ETA application process is quick and easy, with applicants required to provide basic personal and travel information. Once approved, the ETA will be sent to the applicant via email, making it easy to carry a digital copy during travel.
This move is expected to boost tourism between the two countries, as Ghanaian citizens can now plan their trips to Kenya with greater ease. Additionally, it will also facilitate business travel, trade, and cultural exchange initiatives between the two nations.
In conclusion, Ghanaian travelers can now enjoy a more streamlined travel experience to Kenya, thanks to the introduction of Electronic Travel Authorizations at no cost. The Kenyan government’s efforts to simplify travel procedures demonstrate its commitment to promoting tourism and economic cooperation between the two countries.
