I will create employment for Volta youth – Kennedy Agyapong

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, MP for Assin North and Board Chairman of the Ghana Gas Company, has promised to help look for ways to help people in the Volta Region find jobs.
He said that he was talking with important people, like the Regional Minister, to find ways to create jobs.
The MP was at the 2022 Youth Week Celebration of the St. Francis of Asissi Parish in Ho, where he spoke to the young people there.
“As I was coming here, I looked around and at the scenery. So, I asked Dr. Letsa, “Minister, what can we do as a region for Volta Region to create jobs for men and women who are out of work?”
Mr. Agyapong said that the Regional Minister had given him some areas to think about, and he said, “I will look at my business plans to see what I can do to hire people in this Region.”
The MP, who is known as one of the most successful businesspeople in the country, spent more than half an hour inspiring young people and Church members.
He asked people to think about how hard his life had been and to have faith in themselves and big dreams.
“It doesn’t matter where you’re from; if you want to get ahead in life, you will. I believe in you, and I think you can do better than what Kennedy Agyapong has done.”
The MP told young people to broaden their view of life and try to find work in fields other than what they were trained for.
He also told people not to be lazy and told graduates to think about working in agriculture because they could do well there.
“If you go to school, you can farm in the sky,” he said.
Mr. Agyapong told the young people to save and invest as much as they could. He said, “Anyone who says he can’t save because he doesn’t make enough money is living in a fool’s paradise.”
“Let’s work hard in this country,” he said, promising that the graduate employment drive would get more of his attention.
“I won’t stop working until I see young men and women leave college with jobs.”
The MP, whose last trip to the Ho Municipality was a big deal because he was “rejected” by the Asogli State, was given a warm welcome at the Church with cannon shots and a brass band parade.
The MP gave GHC 50,000 to a campaign to raise money for building an office complex.
The Parish Priest, Rev. Father Benjamin Gawu, said that government policies, like the Free SHS, made it easier for parents to prepare their children for the future, and that such efforts should be supported.
