Adu Boahen’s sacking: Do a good job – MP tells OSP
David T. D. Vondee, a member of parliament for the Twifo Atti Morkwa constituency, has said that Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta and the sacked Minister of State at the Finance Ministry Charles Adu Boahen should have resigned in principle long before Ghana started talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) because they were against going to the Fund in the past.
The MP for Twifo, Atti Morkwa, says that these ministers of finance are to blame for the country’s terrible economic situation because they have not done their jobs well. They do not deserve to stay in office, he says.
“These guys should have quit a long time ago. “By principle, Ofori-Atta and Charles Adu Boahen should have quit as soon as they decided to go to the IMF,” he said.
The lawmaker said that some of the country’s leaders are in the business of corruption. Investors who want to invest in Ghana are finding it hard and frustrating, so Ghanaians shouldn’t let Charles Adu Boahen off the hook.
“It’s not enough to fire Charles Adu Boahen. He made a lot of money, and he should be charged with corruption after a proper investigation. The lawmaker said, “I hope the Special Prosecutor can do a good job, be fair, and investigate and prosecute this case properly.”
David Vondee told Alfred Ocansey on the 3FM Sunrise Morning Show that it is illegal to even think about asking an investor for money in exchange for a meeting with the Vice President. He said that there are professional middlemen who are registered and accepted around the world and can help make contracts happen, but not a minister of state in charge of finances.

“It’s illegal to talk to someone in that way just because you think it’s a good idea. Is it not scary that the name of the vice president is being used to try to get money from investors? Mr. Vondee told Ghanaians that they shouldn’t let this matter go away.
In a press release on November 14, 2022, the president said that Charles Adu Boahen was fired after he learned about the accusations made against the Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance in the “Galamsey Economy” report by Tiger Eye PI.
