Heroic Victim of Taifa Daylight robbery in critical condition
A heroic victim of a daylight robbery in Taifa whose refused to let his hard earned money go is in critical condition after he chased the robbers and managed to knock them down with the motor the used in their operation. The victim whose name is given as Junior wasrobbed of GHS12,000 been his working capital at his mobile money shop. The robbers also made away with his recharge cards as well. He decided to give the robbers a good chase and a run for their money in his Pontiac Vibe car with registration number GW 2565-17.
According to sources, the robbers upon realizing they were been chased by their victim shot at him several times. Junior the victim succeeded in avoiding their attempt before knocking the robbers with his car. He whacked the robbers and the motor at the Wakiki junction but sustained severe injuries in the process. Information we have gathered indicated that the Pontiac Vibe car with registration number GW 2565-17 driven by the victim somersaulted a few times in the process before coming to a halt.
\He knocked them into the nearby residence breaking the wall and anything that was on it way including an ECG pole which fell almost into the road.
As the saying goes, “one day for the thief man, one day for the master” the robbers’ haven been knocked down tried to escape, however, one of the suspects was caught right after the knockdown while the other run into the nearby bush but the vigilante youth in the community chased after him and nabbed him at the Dove School area in Taifa a suburb of Ga East Municipal. This success was achieved with the help of a dog in the neighborhood who barked at him at Ahmed after finding him in the mear by bushes. The police followed up to search for the pistol that was shot at the victim to be sued as evidence and exhibit. Currently, the suspects have been handed over to the Dome-Kwabenya police here in Accra for further investigations on the matter.
Two videos have emerged so far. In one of them, one of the suspects is seen in sitting down on the ground in a pool of blood apparently as a result of the knock and impact of the car. In the second video, the car of the victim wreaked beyond repairs is seen stationed on the road with spectators chatting and discussion the incident. The Ghana police have visited the science to ensure they calm the angry youth down while initiating their investigations as well.
In recent times, robbery and crime in general is beginning to raise its ugly head in the country, a few days ago, a lady was robbed of her mobile money and acid was poured on her in the process, other Ghanaians have suffered similar robberies either just after walking out of the banking hall or while on their way home. We need the Ghana police to continue to up their game to help protect the citizenry.
