HALT Online Registration Now! UCC SRC Counters University Directives

The SRC has, however, come out with a press release to counter the directive by management ordering students to register online for academic work resumption.

The student leadership statement copied to NewsGhana24.com asked students of the university to halt every registration process.
Issues such as buying of data bundle, access to the internet and computers for students, especially students in remote areas were tabled by the SRC as challenges that confront the students. It said these will inconvenient students.
The statement revealed that discussions on internet bundle were still ongoing and that it was taken by surprise with the directive.
According to the SRC, the University Management erred as it failed to consider the above and other issues which it believes will greatly impact underprivileged students and deny them the opportunity to get involved in academic work online.
It also raised concerns regarding the absence of directives on project works of final year students in the directive issued by the University.
The student leadership has therefore called on students to indefinitely halt every attempt to register until the management of The University of Cape Coast (UCC) does the needful in the wake of COVID-19.
The communique by the leadership of the university released earlier announced that it will start its online academic work from April, 22 and end on June 2. It further indicated 15th June for examination if COVID-19 conditions became favourable.
The Student Representative Council has stated it will continue to seek the best interest of students.
