Government to evacuate Ghanaians abroad home

Government of Ghana to evacuate Ghanaians abroad home as part of efforts to help stranded Ghanaians who want to come home. In the wake of border restrictions, many Ghanaians were unable to return home.
Although the government has not lifted the restrictions on the closure of its borders, the government is determined to give special attention to its nationals abroad. Ghanaians stranded in foreign lands called on the government to evacuate them home during the lockdown.
The president whiles delivering his 10th national address since the first 2 cases were recorded in Ghana said “However, given that there are Ghana residents stranded abroad, special dispensation is going to be given for their evacuation back to Ghana, where they will be subjected to the mandatory quarantine and
safety protocols.”

All borders, however, shall remain closed until 31st July 2020 and although restrictions have been eased, President Nana Addo asked all to “continue to remain vigilant and respect the enhanced hygiene and social distancing protocols that have become part and parcel of our daily routine over the last three (3) months. We cannot afford to let our guard down and ruin the successes we have chalked over this period.”
Government is however yet to reveal modalities to be used to evacuate Ghanaians abroad home
