Ghana firmly supports Ukraine’s sovereignty, territorial integrity – Ampratum-Sarpong.

In a clear display of diplomatic support, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of Ghana, Kwaku Ampratum-Sarpong, has reaffirmed Ghana’s solid stance in favor of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity amidst the ongoing conflict with Russia.

Speaking at the inauguration of the new Ukraine Embassy in Accra, Ampratum-Sarpong criticized Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, highlighting it as a breach of international norms and the foundational principles of the United Nations Charter.

The establishment of the Ukraine Embassy in Ghana marks a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.

The Deputy Minister underscored the broader implications of the Russia-Ukraine crisis, noting its adverse effects on global markets and exacerbation of challenges related to food and energy security.

He voiced Ghana’s solidarity with Ukraine, recognizing the profound impact of the conflict on critical areas such as education, food security, and economic stability.

Ampratum-Sarpong expressed optimism about the potential benefits the new embassy could bring in terms of diplomatic, economic, trade, and investment relations.

He conveyed the Ghanaian government’s readiness to support the Charge d’Affaires ad Interim of Ukraine in his duties and hinted at future plans to establish a Ghanaian embassy in Kyiv to further enhance cooperation.

On the Ukrainian side, Dr. Maksym Subh, Special Envoy of Ukraine to the Middle East and Africa, indicated Ukraine’s eagerness to work with Ghana.

He emphasized building on Ghana’s stable economic and political framework to create job opportunities for both nations.

This collaborative spirit promises to forge a mutually beneficial relationship, leveraging economic partnerships to foster resilience and prosperity in both countries.
