Former president John Dramani Mahama warns president Akufo Addo
Former president of Ghana and flagbearer of the national Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr.John Dramani Mahama has apprised president Nana Akufo Addo over what he described as the use of military and guns to hold on power.
In an utterance by the former president, Dubbed ‘Solidarity with regions under military siege, John Dramani Mahama was unhappy that military personnel’s have been deployed with funs to the various borders in the Volta region, oti region,upper east and upper West regions to provide protection ahead of the commenencment of the new voters register compilation tomorrow Tuesday 30, 2020.

Mr John Dramani Mahama, indicated that,persons in e Volta region and other affected regions have the right to vote for any party they wish and must not be intimidated with guns . he says , president Akufo addo is abusing the power giving to him by Ghanaians as president.
He stated that he has enough reasons to believe that there are merits in concern being raised by the residents of the affected regions. This represents another unprecedented low in the shameless abuse of state power to attack the very Ghanaian s whose safety and security Akufo Ado has sworn to protect. The deployments of guns have begun to create fear and anxiety among residents of the affected regions who have been left in no doubt that it has been done as part of larger strategy to intimidate them into abstaining from the compilation of the new voters register.
John Dramani Mahama further indicated that, the president Nana Akufo Addo perceives political powers as an end to itself and has resorted to sending military troops to declare war on regions where there is peace and harmony.
Former president John Dramani Mahama questioned why Akufo Addo government has singled out only the Volta region for such an attack and urged Ghanaians to condemn the decision. He again warned Nana Akufo Addo to put immediate stop to siege , describing it as needless.
“The signaling out of the Volta ,Oti and other regions for this form of attack must be condemned by all Ghanaians. We cannot remain silent while part of our country is marginalized on account of political calculation. The people of the affected regions have the right to support any political party of their choice and must not be punished for that.
Mr. President (Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo ) putan end to this needless siege and live to your oath of office which binds you to treat all Ghanaians equally and ensure their security.
