Eddie Nketiah: “If Ghana Calls Me, I Will Be There”

Former Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah, in a recent interview, has declared his readiness to represent the Ghana national team at the international level.
Eddie Nketiah, who joined English Premier League side Crystal Palace from Arsenal, had previously turned down invitations from the Ghana Football Association, hoping to continue playing for the Three Lions of England.
In a recent interview with the Beautiful Game podcast, the English-born Ghanaian striker stated clearly his intentions of now playing for the Ghana national team: “When I was younger , representing England was an option after progressing through the youth system. But if Ghana invites me, then I will be there.”
Eddie Nketiah was born in London to Ghanaian parents, making him eligible to represent both Ghana and London per the FIFA regulations. The striker has not made a competitive appearance for the senior national team of England, which still makes him eligible to play for the Ghana national team at the international level.
Eddie Nketiah still holds the record for the all-time leading goal scorer of the England U21 side, scoring a total of 16 goals in 17 appearances.
The intentions of the 25-year-old striker are yet to be responded to by the Ghana Football Association, as people think the player wants a slot in the Ghana national team, as they are in a good position to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after a disastrous AFCON qualifying campaign.
