Company Driver and Accomplices Arrested for Gold Robbery; Police Seize Guns and Cash

The Ghana Police Service has arrested three individuals linked to a robbery incident at Wassa Afransie in the Western Region, involving gold robbery valued at GHS199,000 and other items.
As per their Official Facebook post page on Saturday, April 26 2025, the Police said the Western Central Regional Command carried out a strategic operation which resulted in the arrest of Felix Adjei, also known as Africa or Nana Adjei; Emmanuel Kelvin, a Nigerian national; and Kofi Appiah, alias Kesse.
Early investigations indicated that on 4 April 2025, Mr Appiah, who was employed as a driver for Mas Palasco Gold Buying Limited, and another worker, Emmanuel Adu, were coming back from Wassa Ayiem after collecting gold from a client when they were attacked by armed men who came out from nearby bushes.
The attackers fired shots into air before getting away with 14 pounds of gold, two mobile phones, and a car without registration Toyota Corolla, which was later discovered abandoned in a nearby community.
After conducting additional investigations, Mr Appiah was detained at his residence in Wassa Akropong on 21 April 2025. The two other suspects involved in the gold robbery were later apprehended at various hideouts.
In the course of the operation, the Police recovered a Jojeff pump-action gun with butt number 168316, a Calymm PDS pistol without a serial number, twenty-five rounds of 9mm ammunition, an AA cartridge, two G3 ammunitions, a locally manufactured pistol, and an amount of GHS65,000 in cash thought to be linked to in the robbery. The three suspects are currently in Police custody and are help with the current investigations.
