- Nothing was spared, water bottles, and anything they could lay hands on was thrown onto the field in anger.
Following the Black Stars’ 0-1 loss to Angola in the 2025 Afcon Qualifier, fans who marched to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium vented their frustrations on the stadium’s seats, advertising boards, and other facilities. Angry fans threw water bottles and sachets onto the field. Many fans then jumped over the fences and opened the doors to gain access to the field.
They destroyed everything they saw on the field to register their displeasure at the team’s performance. According to videos spotted by NewsGhana24.com, disappointed Ghanaian fans destroyed pitch panels at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and launched missiles onto the pitch after Angola defeated the Black Stars in a 2025 AFCON Qualifier.
The loss is historic as well since the Ghana Black Stars’ 24-year unbeaten streak in Kumasi until today. Many expected Ghana to win the day’s encounter on home grounds, but a last-minute goal broke their hearts.
The goal in extra time was a heartbreak for fans of the Black Stars. One of the fans who reacted to the loss stated that he could not imagine how a team (Angola), given 13 odds by a batting company, could beat the Ghana Black Stars at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
