Arrest Delta Force members, NPP Big bigwig Wontumi directs police. The ever loud NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly known as chairman Wontumi has directs the Police to Arrest Delta Force members who act in any way to negatively influence the ongoing limited Voters registration exercise of the Electoral Commission of Ghana.

By this statement, the Leadership of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has distanced itself from the activities of the defunct vigilante group Delta Force, which was known to be a vigilante group with a strong affiliation with the NPP.

The Ashanti regional chairman is of the view that any such persons who foment trouble must be dealt with by the law.

According to him, the New Patriotic party has long part ways with the group after the President of the Republic called on all political parties in Ghana to take the necessary steps to disband those groups formed within their parties.

Chairman Wontumi was emphatic when he added that, “No vigilante group; being it Delta Force, Invincible Force and even that of NDC’s Hawks have been sent to go and monitor development for us”. This is a strong indication that such persons may be acting on their own volition.

In the past, Chairman Wontumi had defended the group and its actions but his stands today are commendable for now have called on the security agencies to deal with anyone who will break the laws of the land no matter who it is and the group it belongs to.

He also affirmed his commitment to giving the Police full support to get such persons arrested and persecuted so they do not cause any confusion during the limited Voters registration exercise going on.
