Archbishop Charles Agyinasare appointed President of The Bible Society of Ghana
In a Development in the Christiandom, Ghana Bible Society of Ghana has recently experienced a pivotal moment in its history with the announcement made by its General Secretary, Very Rev Dr. John Kwesi Addo Jnr, that Archbishop Charles Agyinasare has been appointed as the new President of the Society.
The appointment of Archbishop Charles Agyinasare took place during a summit called the Supernatural Empowerment Summit on May 3, 2024. The event was known to have hosted over 1000 Christian leaders from More than 47 nations.
What makes his appointment a special and noteworthy one is that he is the first man of God to be appointed as the President of the Bible Society of Ghana from a Charismatic Church.
The Chairperson of the Bible Society of Ghana explained that the Archbishop was chosen because of how respected his leadership influence was, and also the fact that he has a charming plus admirable character.
The date stapulated for the Archbishop to assume office is August 1, 2024, launching a significant milestone for the Bible Society of Ghana. The purpose of his position in the Bible Society is to help champion the goals of the organization.
One is to make the word of God, bible, more accessible and two, is to make bibles in our local languages more affordable for Christians.

The society has been able to translate the Bible into 9 major Ghanaian local languages till date and is currently working to translate the Bible to another 3 local languages.
During the announcement of his new position as the President of the society, the Chairperson emphasized the strategic significance of Archbishop Agyinasare’s appointment, pointing out his extensive experience in ministry, which spans over forty years. “With such a wealth of experience, Archbishop Agyinasare is poised to steer the organization towards achieving its objectives during his two-year mandate as President,” the Chairman noted.
Both the international and local christian community was elated hearing this news.
Many Christians have expressed this move as a strategic one which would help maximize the organizational goals of the society in the long run.
The Archbishop himself expressed a heartfelt gratitude in response to his appointment at the Bible Society of Ghana.
He said he appreciates that fact that trust has been placed in him, and as a matter of fact, he would put in all his possible best .
Moreover, the newly appointed President applauded the society’s commitment to embrace diversity and inclusion in its activities.
He believes the Bible Society did so well extending and reaching out to other denominations of the Christian Society for the work at hand.
Duties of the President of the Bible Society of Ghana
Appointed as the President of The Bible Society of Ghana, Agyinasare is expected to guide and provide calculated direction, advocate for Bible availability, engage Christian stakeholders, and oversee fundraising for the Organization’s activities.
The new President will frontline, manage and distribute projects, ensuring they meet expectations of cultural and linguistic needs, while leading and developing the Society’s members to enhance their contribution to the mission of making the Bible accessible to all.
