2019 NOVDEC results out, others withheld by WAEC add up to 753. The results were withheld by the examination council for the students alleged involvement in various degrees of examination malpractices during examination. Their actions were contrary to the rules governing the NOVDEC exams.
The West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private candidates was written some months ago.
According to WAEC the 2019 NOVDEC results withheld by WAEC are the entire results of the candidates affected. Thus all the subjects the students sat for in the examination.
WAEC withheld results dues to impersonation cases, the use of mobile phones by candidates in the examination hall as well as double registration by some candidates for the same examination.
The results will not be released until WAEC is through with its own investigations and is satisfied that, the students were not engaged in any form of examination malpractice.
WAEC detected the irregularities during and after the conduct of the 2019 NOVDEC examination.
“The withheld results will be released or cancelled as soon as the Council concludes its investigations into the malpractices which include impersonation and bringing mobile phones into the examination hall, bringing foreign material such as prepared notes, printed material and mobile phones to the examination hall and collusion among candidates,” the statement said.
WAEC in its statement indicated that out of 102,278 candidates, 51,935 males and 55,488 females sat for the examination. However, a total of 5,145 of the candidates were absent during the examination.
Among other things, the council further advised members of the public and candidates of its various examinations to beware of fraudsters. Such persons promise students of upgrading their results at a fee. These result upgrades are fake and WAEC has a secured system which such persons cannot break to officially change any result.
It states that, “The Council will send the results to the various schools and candidates are advised to contact their heads of school for their results.”
Meanwhile, WAEC has also hosted 2019 NOVDEC results out, and released and these can be accessed online. The next WASSCE will be written in 2020 by the first batch of the Free SHS students. The President of Ghana has urged them to work hard and come out with excellent results.
