WhatsApp gets major update, users can now send video messages in beta version: Here is how
WhatsApp: The platform has released one of the biggest features for users. The new video message feature is visible in the 23.12.0.71 version of WhatsApp beta for iOS and version 2.23.13.4 for Android.
WhatsApp has rolled out one of the biggest features yet – Video messages. Until now, people were able to quickly send some audio messages if they don’t feel like typing a message. Now, one will be able to send video messages on the app. However, the new update is visible in the latest version of WhatsApp beta for iOS and Android.
The company isn’t expected to take a very long time to release the feature for the stable version too, considering WhatsApp has been pushing out new features for everyone pretty fast. Many features such as an edit button, hiding online presence on WhatsApp, hiding profile pictures from specific people, chat lock, multi-phone support, and more were released for everyone pretty quickly. Hence, the new one is expected to arrive soon for everyone who is using the stable version of the app.
Currently, the video message feature is visible in the 23.12.0.71 version of WhatsApp beta for iOS and version 2.23.13.4 for Android.
How to send video messages on WhatsApp
The process is very simple and the platform hasn’t complicated it. The feature works just like how one sends an audio message on the app. The video icon will be incorporated in place of the microphone icon on every chat. This will let you send either audio or video messages to the recipient.
Step 1: Open WhatsApp and go to any chat.
Step 2: Tap on the microphone or video camera icon, which is located on the right of the typing bar.
Step 3: You can now record and send it to anyone.
Note: The details revealed by WaBetaInfo claim that your video messages will remain end-to-end encrypted, which basically means that no one will be able to check your video messages. WhatsApp will also block the option to forward that video message on the platform. Though, it won’t be able to stop people from screen recording something. People could decide to record the video using a secondary device.
The video message feature is more useful than sharing it using the phone’s gallery because you can immediately record and send it. It is just like how you want to send a quick audio message to a person and now, you can send a video too. It is currently unknown as to how long video one can create and share. The app is also expected to offer basic cut, pause, and other editing features to users. But, details for the same are currently unknown.
