US will take ownership of Gaza: President Donald Trump
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, on Tuesday, February 4th, 2025, said he wants the US to take ownership of Gaza with the help of troops. His earlier statement also emphasized forcing the Palestinians to relocate to neighbouring Egypt and Jordan. During a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, President Donald Trump said, “The United States will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it too.”
President Donald Trump also said, “We’ll own it and be responsible for destroying dangerous unexploded bombs and their weapons on the site, leveling the site as well, and get rid of the destroyed buildings.”. He did not also rule out whether he was willing to send US troops to secure Gaza. He is going to name Gaza as “New Riviera” after development. “As far as Gaza is concerned, we’ll do what is necessary. We’re going to take over that piece and that’s where we’re going to develop,” he said.
The comments of President Donald Trump are remarkable assertions from a sitting American president. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in the southern parts of Gaza have marched north toward their homes after Israel allowed people to return as part of the ceasefire for a hostage release deal with Hamas.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, sitting with Trump in the Oval Office, was smiling when President Trump was speaking. The Prime Minister, under conflicting pressure domestically, was in Washington to see where President Trump stands on the next phase of a ceasefire in Gaza. Netanyahu said in the Oval Office, “I think President Donald Trump added great force and powerful leadership to this effort.”. President Trump again said he was still passionate about freeing the remaining hostages in Gaza. “We’d like to get all of the hostages, and if we don’t, it will just make us somewhat more violent,” he said.

The South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham also said, “We’ll see what our Arab friends say about that. I think most South Carolinians would probably not be excited about sending Americans to take over Gaza.”.
