UCC to Confer Honorary Doctorate Degree on Otumfour Osei Tutu II

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) in a statement, is pleased to announce that it will be conferring an Honorary Doctorate Degree (Honoris Causa) on His Royal Majesty, Otumfour Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene of the Ashanti Kingdom.

Otumfour Osei Tutu II has made significant strides in various fields, including water and sanitation, health, education, entrepreneurship, culture, and heritage.

His commitment to promoting peace and democracy has been exemplary, as evidenced by his role in convincing leaders from different political parties to sign a pledge to ensure peaceful elections in 2012.

The university also recognizes his remarkable mediation skills, which have helped to resolve numerous land and chieftaincy disputes among his people and elsewhere.
