Transport Fares to increase by 15%, commuters to suffer

Transport Fares are scheduled to increase by 15% in the wake of the continuous increase in the price of fuel since January 2022.
The Road Transport Operators released an official statement on Monday, February 21, 2022, to inform the public about an imminent increase in the fares of public transport.
The transport fares are to increase by 15% and the directive is to take effect starting Saturday, February 26, 2022.
The officials of the body request that the public bear with it and try to comply in that regard.
The statement comes with standard fare increases to give a fair idea of what the public is to pay depending on the current fare.

When Transport Fares scheduled to increase by 15% takes effect, operators of shared taxis, intr city (Trotro) transport operators and intercity (long-distance) transport fares will reflect the new prices. The increase in transport fares will transfer the hikes fule prices to the final consumer (Commuters) Currently, a liter of fuel ranges between GHS7.40 and GHS7.99
