Top 5 Candidates Predicted in NPP Super Delegates Conference: Pollster Ben Ephson
Pollster and managing news editor of the Daily Dispatch newspaper Ben Ephson has made his predictions on the top 5 candidates who will emerge from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) super delegates conference on Saturday, August 27.
The conference will see 961 delegates vote to narrow down the field of 10 presidential aspirants to a final 5. The top 5 candidates will then go on to contest the final flagbearership race on November 4.
Ephson has predicted that Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen, and Member of Parliament for Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong will be the top 3 candidates to make the cut. He believes that the remaining two spots will be contested by former Minister of Justice and Attorney General Joe Ghartey, former Minister of Food and Agriculture Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, and former Minister of Energy Boakye Agyarko.
Ephson’s predictions are based on a number of factors, including the candidates’ popularity among party delegates, their financial resources, and their campaign strategies. He believes that Bawumia is the clear favorite to win the conference, thanks to his strong support among delegates and his close ties to President Nana Akufo-Addo. Kyerematen is also a popular choice among delegates, and he has been campaigning aggressively in recent months. Agyapong is a controversial figure, but he is also a strong fundraiser and has a loyal following among party members.

Ephson warned that the outcome of the super delegates conference does not necessarily reflect the outcome of the final flagbearership race. He said that Agyapong could surprise some people and push the race into a runoff. He also said that Kyerematen could lose momentum in the coming months and finish third in the final race.
The NPP super delegates conference is a crucial event in the party’s presidential election campaign. The outcome of the conference will have a major impact on the dynamics of the race and could determine who becomes the party’s next flagbearer.
In addition to the candidates mentioned by Ephson, the other aspirants in the race are former Mampong Member of Parliament (MP) Francis Addai-Nimoh and former Minister of Trade and Industry Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku.
