The Council of State for Volta donates motorcycles to support journalists in the region

Gabriel Tanko Kwamigah Atople, the Council of State Representative for Volta, has made a donation of seven motorcycles to the Duamenefa Foundation to support journalists through their efforts across Volta Region and parts of Togo.
This charitable act, which targets news correspondents in Keta Municipality, Ketu South, Akatsi South, Ketu North, Anlo District, Akanu, Segbe, Zanguera communities and cross-borders seeks to ameliorate mobility and efficiency in dealing with crucial issues locally.
This initiative is in line with Mr Gabriel Kwamigah’s wide vision of strengthening community involvement in governance and development efforts.
Over the years, the Duamenefa Foundation, a leading community- based organization, has played a significant role in investigative journalism, community advocacy and social interventions. Transportation disparities have always impeded the reporters of the community from reaching remote areas to bring to light important socio-economic and governance matters.
In addition to these motorcycles, community reporters can now steer through tough terrain with difficulty which will also ensure that critical stories are brought to forefront and the local voices are elevated to national level.
The Executive Board of Governors of Fafaa FM, the partnering media company of Duamenefa Foundation, extended heartfelt thanks to Mr Gabriel Tanko Kwamigah for such support. The Executive Board of Governors of Fafaa FM declared in an official commendation letter that ”The chiefs, assembly members, community leaders and the general public appreciate God’s provision through your sponsorship of the 2024, 2025 and 2026 AGENDA project.”
Sharing the significance of the donation, the Duamenefa Foundation leaders expressed how these motorcycles will transform the news gathering activities enabling them to quickly respond to community concerns, hold leaders responsible and document developmental gap.
The newest donation adds to Mr Gabriel Kwamigah’s unwavering dedication in supporting media, education and the development of the community. Mr Gabriel Kwamigah’s contribution gives a clear vision to establish well informed and empowered communities to drive their own progress.
By this selfless donation, Mr Gabriel Tanko Kwamigah Atople has reaffirmed that the development of grassroots will be fostered when local communities drive change.
