Soldier mistakenly shoots police woman on COVID-19 duty

Soldier mistakenly shoots police officer on COVID-19 duty is the latest news to hit Ghana’s united front effort towards the fight to halt the spread of COVID-19.
The sad event occurred at Tama New Town in the Tema Metropolis of the Greater Accra Region.
The incident happened Thursday morning, but it is unclear what might have provoked the action.
The policewoman, a lance corporal, is said to have sustained injuries on the lower part of her leg and was rushed to the Tema General Hospital, where she is responding to treatment.
The soldier has also been detained at the Tema Naval Base and investigations into the incident has begun.
