Snap Inc., the parent company of Snapchat recently announced that it is integrating Lenses into Microsoft Teams. Used by more than 280 million people worldwide, Teams is one of the most popular collaboration tools.
This was made possible thanks to Snap’s Camera Kit SDK which allows other developers to use the company’s Snap AR technology and integrate it with their products.
Snapchat says the SDK allows users to create a wide range of augmented reality experiences using Lens Studio and even tap into the company’s network of AR lens developers using the Creator Marketplace.
Microsoft Teams users will be able to choose from a collection of 26 Lenses, which are aimed at making meetings fun and collaborative. Participants can transform them into cartoon characters and even add fun backgrounds to their videos like falling snow. These new lenses do not require users to download any additional files and can be quickly accessed in the middle of a meeting or call.
To use Snapchat Lenses in Microsoft Teams, all you need to do is click on the ‘Video Effects’ option, head over to the ‘More Video Effects’ and select Snapchat in the filter category that shows up.
Now, click on the lens you want to use and join the call. If you want to explore more lenses, click on the three-dot button that appears next to any lens and you will see a scannable Snapcode along with instructions on how to find the Lens on Snapchat.
