Rapper Edem in court for allegedly knocking and killing unknown woman on Bush highway

Allegedly knocking down a woman on the George Walker Bush Highway last Sunday at about 2 a.m., rapper Edem, whose legal name is Denning Edem Hotor, was arraigned at the Kaneshie District Court on Monday morning.
The accident happened while Edem was allegedly driving a Honda Touring with the licence plate GX 3011-19.
The unnamed woman has reportedly passed away, according to court records. It is believed that she is in her thirties.
The victim was taken to the Police Hospital for treatment after suffering terrible injuries; however, the on-duty doctor declared the deceased dead upon arrival.
The ‘Nyedzilo’ singer was subject to two counts of careless and inconsiderate driving and one count of negligently causing harm at his arraignment on Monday, December 11, 2023, at the Kaneshie District Court.
The judge, Nana Abena Asor Owusu Amenyo, presided over his appearance.
Upon stepping onto the dock, Edem’s pleading was ignored.
According to reports, he is helping the police with their investigations.
A bail of GH¢50,000 was granted to Edem with two sureties.
He is free to leave the country with two sureties and GH¢50,000 in bail.
February 15, 2024 is the date of his scheduled return to court.

At Abeka intersection on Saturday night and continuing into Sunday morning, Edem was a guest on a television series.
According to Graphic Online’s understanding, the tragedy happened while he was returning from the television series that aired at daybreak.
Reports of the collision were received at Accra’s Tesano police Motor Transport and Traffic Department (MTTD).
The woman who was allegedly crossed the roadway in front of Edem’s vehicle while ‘naked,’ according to reports.
