Police Arrest One Suspect For The Murder Of A Lecturer

The Ghana Police Service in Cape Coast Central Region have arrested one suspect for the murder of a lecturer.
The Central region police command on the 22nd of May 2025 released a press statement stating the arrest of a suspect named Joshua Karry Arthur who who is in connection with the murder of a senior lecturer at the University of Education, Winneba at Essuokyir in the Central Region.
Per the press release from the Police, the lecturer had been reported missing on the 21st of May by his colleagues who had indicated to the police that all efforts to reach him had yield no response.
The police proceeded to the residence of the deceased, where the suspect was found and arrested.
The police discovered some blood stains which were traced to a heap of sand about 23 meters from the house. Upon clearing the sand, a body believed to be that of the missing lecturer was found buried. The body was recovered and deposited at the morgue for preservation and autopsy.
The suspect is currently in police custody assisting investigations and will be arraigned before court.
