Pastor Love jailed 48-months in hard labour for stealing

Pastor Love, a former husband of a gospel musician Obaapa Christy, had been jailed for stealing and sentenced to 48 months with hard labor in prison.

According to sources, Pastor Hammond Love was pronounced guilty of the crime after seven years of court’s hearings

Prior to his sentence, a dispirited Pastor Love appealed for mercy from the court, adding that he was ready to pay any fine that would be imposed on him.

The court, presided over by Isaac Addo, gave a thought to the fact that convicted Pastor Love did not have any past-records of crime act and that this was his first time.
However, the judge added that, he as a Pastor is expected to hold true to integrity, especially when it comes to matters of trust and therefore handed him the 48 month sentence term as a just penalty.

As presented by ASP Frimpong, the case involved Samuel Amankwaah, a resident of United States, who in 2016 imported a 4X4 vehicle and asked Pastor Love to handle its clearance.

The now convict, Pastor Love cleared the aforementioned vehicle with his own money, after which complainant told him to sell it for fifty thousand dollars and deduct the amount he paid as duty at the port.

Thereafter, the complainant asked Pastor Love to wait with ths sale of the vehicle as he would travel into the country and give back his money.

Moreover, in April 2017, the Complainant arrived in the country and contacted Pastor Love for his vehicle, but he could not deliver it despite several demands by the owner.

The complainant filed a complaint with the Policd and Pastor Love was arrested in May, the sake year.

In the course of questioning, convicted Pastor Love told the Police that he went for a loan of forty thousands cedis with 20 percent interest rate to clear the vehicle and was accruing more interest, he then sold the vehicle at eighty thousand cedis without the approval of the owner and paid seventy thousand cedis to the loan company.

Meanwhile, Pastor Love failed to lead the Police to the said loan company to confirm the claim and also coud not tell who purchased the vehicle.

The judge rebuked the convict for his dishonesty behavior towards the court.
