New UK Visa Centre Opens in Kumasi to Serve Ashanti Region

Traveling to the UK is now easier for people living in Kumasi and the Ashanti region. VFS Global, working with UK Visas and Immigration, has opened a new UK Premium Visa Application Centre (PAC) in Kumasi. The centre is located on the 3rd floor of the Golden Bean Hotel, No. 19 Harper Road, Nhyiaeso, Adum.
This new centre means UK visa services are now more accessible outside of Accra. It follows a growing demand, as Ghana is among the top 10 countries applying for UK visit visas. The Kumasi centre adds to the existing centre in Accra, which has been in operation since October 2024.
“We are delighted to expand UK visa application services to customers outside Accra,” said H.E. Keith McMahon, Chargé d’affaires at the British High Commission. “Kumasi and the Ashanti region are a crucial part of the UK-Ghana partnership, and we hope to welcome more travellers from Ghana to the UK.”
The centre offers several helpful services, including help with uploading documents, updates on application status, and courier delivery of documents. One key feature is the “Keep My Passport While Applying” option, which allows applicants to keep their passport after submitting biometrics. They only need to send it in again once a decision is made.
Alok Singhal, Head of Sub-Saharan Africa at VFS Global, said, “We are pleased to open the additional, conveniently located Premium Application Centre in Kumasi. This helps us serve a larger number of UK-bound travellers with the same best-in-class service they expect in Accra.”
VFS Global has worked with UK Visas and Immigration since 2003 and was recently awarded the contract to provide visa services in 142 countries.
