For instance, while the EC reported 25,287 registered voters for Day 2 of the registration exercise, the NDC recorded only 19,267.
Also, the EC’s total registration figure of 48,616 for Day 3 didn’t tally the NDC’s count of 43,417 registered voters.
As of May 10, the EC has reported a total of 143,014 registered voters across various regions.
However, the discrepancies in the reported numbers have led to concerns about potential irregularities and the need for greater scrutiny of the EC’s data.
In response to these allegations, the EC has assured the public of the integrity of the voter registration exercise and emphasized its commitment to ensuring a free, fair, and credible electoral process.
The commission has reiterated its adherence to strict protocols and measures to safeguard the registration process and prevent any form of manipulation or fraud.
The upcoming press conference on Monday is expected to provide more clarity on the issue and address the concerns raised by the NDC and other stakeholders.
It remains to be seen whether the EC will present additional evidence or explanations to support its reported registration figures and refute the NDC’s claims.
The voter registration exercise is a crucial step in the lead-up to the 2024 general elections, and the accuracy of the voter register is essential for maintaining the credibility and legitimacy of the electoral process.

As the debate over the voter registration figures continues, it is essential for all parties involved to prioritize accuracy, accountability, and transparency in the electoral process.
The upcoming press conference is an opportunity for the EC to address these concerns and reaffirm its commitment to upholding the integrity of the voter registration exercise.
