NDC launches fundraiser campaign
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has begun a fundraising campaign in the Volta Region ahead of the general elections scheduled for December 7th.
The ‘Support Volta NDC Campaign 2024’ aims to combine contributions from party supporters and well-wishers to aid the opposition party’s campaign efforts in its stronghold.

According to Daniel Agboka-Zegede, the NDC Volta Regional Treasurer, members have not paid their monthly dues, which has made it challenging for the party to finance its campaign and administrative expenses.
The ‘Support Volta NDC Campaign 2024’ was launched, he said, because the party has to find alternative ways to gather money in order to relieve members of parliament and previous appointees of the responsibility of funding party operations.
“Let us work together, it is not only the executives, but it is also your the party members, without you we cannot do this. Collectively we can achieve mega things. Collectively we will win the December 7th elections by 57%. Nothing will change this so we need more money”, he stressed.
He clarified that the campaign is a component of a larger effort to generate GH₵10,000,000 to fund campaign operations in the Volta Region.
The NDC Volta Regional Chairman, Mawutor Agbavitor, expressed optimism about the party’s chances of winning the next general elections, but he also emphasized that the party needs funding to support its campaign efforts.
Therefore, he made a plea to the party’s membership to help fund the organization so that it could convey its goodwill messages and free Ghana “from the clutches of the incompetent” New Patriotic Party government.
“This is a political party that has its principles of probity and accountability; our principles of social justice, our principles of fairness and we are determined to be fair to all. That is why we are calling on all of you, both at home and abroad to support this movement so that we will be able to mop up resources to help the campaign of our party”, he said.
He added that the NDC already has a presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, who is a leader of integrity and has an excellent record to take the nation to its desired status; all the party needs is a well-financed campaign to secure victory.
James Gunu, the Volta Regional NDC Secretary, stated that the party needs to be more resource-efficient and creative when combining its resources to run campaigns.
He pleaded with the people of the Volta Region to support the NDC’s campaign and see the impending elections as the solution to the region’s infrastructure development and survival.
“It is not about NDC, it is not about Volta Region NDC now. It is about the development of this region, it is about the survival of this region, and it is about John Mahama winning to save Ghana. That is what you are contributing towards,” he said.
