Mohammed Kudus crowned the best Footballer of the Year Award at the Ghana Football Awards
Black Stars and West Ham United midfielder, Mohammed Kudus, crowned the Best Footballer of the Year award for the second consecutive year at the Ghana Football Awards in Accra International Conference Center last saturday. The 22-year-old midfielder fought off competition for the highest award of the night from Fatawu Ishahaku, Osman Bukari and Inaki Williams.
Kudus’s impressive performance for West Ham United in his first season earned him the recognition, with 13 goals and six assists to his name. He also took home the Goal of the Year award for his stunning strike against Freiburg SC in the Europa League.
The night was filled with excitement and glamour as Black Stars legends John Mensah, John Painstill, and Agyeman Badu graced the occasion alongside Ghana’s Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif. The awards ceremony recognized outstanding individuals, clubs, and corporate bodies in Ghanaian football.

Yusif Basigi (Hasaacas Ladies) as Women’s Coach of the Season,

Mr. Nurudeen Amadu (Samartex FC) as Men’s Coach of the Season, and Dreams FC as the Most Vibrant Club on Social Media.
The Thumbs Up Awards went to MTN Ghana and Goldfields Ghana for their contributions to Ghanaian football.
The Living Legend Awards were presented to Adjoa Bayor and Nana Sam Brew Butler, while Abdul Aziz Issah (Dreams FC) won the Future Star Award.
Kofi Baah (Samartex FC) as Goalkeeper of the Year,
Jennifer Kankam Yeboah (Zed FC) as Women’s Footballer of the Year
Mukarama Abdulai (Hasaacas Ladies) as Home-based Player of the Year (Female)
Emmanuel Keyekeh as Home-based Player of the Year (Male), and Casfordians as Special Fans Award winners.
The Goal Queen of the Year was Ophelia Amponsah (16 goals) Ampem Darkoa Ladies, while Steven Amankona (19 goals) Berekum Chelsea took home the Goal King of the Year award.
Ademola Lookman (Atlanta, Nigeria) won the Best African International Award.
The Ghana Football Awards is in its 6th year and continues to recognize and celebrate outstanding achievements in Ghanaian football.
This year’s ceremony was a testament to the growth and development of football in Ghana, with many talented individuals and teams being recognized for their hard work and dedication.
