Kylian Mbappe To Wear Jersey Number 10 Next Season?
Kylian Mbappé to wear jersey number 10 next season after Modric’s departure?
With Luka Modrić departing Real Madrid, the legendary No. 10 shirt has become available and is looking for a new owner.
The #10 shirt, worn by some of the club’s best players, including Ferenc Puskás, Clarence Seedorf, Luís Figo, Mesut Özil, and, most recently, Modric, bears a lot of weight and responsibility.
According to recent sources, Arda Güler has emerged as a possible candidate to take over the shirt number, alongside sensation Kylian Mbappé.
However, according to journalist Ramon Alvarez, Mbappé is the most likely candidate to don the legendary shirt and become Real Madrid’s new number ten.
The French attacker arrived at the Santiago Bernabéu last summer and was given the No. 9 shirt, which had been left empty following Karim Benzema’s departure.
However, since signing, Mbappe has been predicted to eventually take over the No. 10 shirt at Real Madrid, the same number he wears for the French national side.
With Modric departing, the 26-year-old former PSG great appears to be ready to take over as Los Blancos’ new number ten.
Despite speculation that Guler could inherit the iconic shirt, Mbappe appears to be the favourite to succeed Modric and carry on the legacy of the No. 10 forward at the Santiago Bernabéu.
If the switch occurs, Endrick could receive a kit upgrade and be assigned the No. 9 shirt by Real Madrid for the upcoming season.
Following their disappointing performance in the FIFA Club World Cup semifinals, Real Madrid is preparing for the new season.
Now, with Real Madrid less than a month away from the start of the new season, Alonso has sent out another clear message about what he expects from the squad in the 2025/26 season.
