The big question is are our candidates getting the best preparation and building the needed confidence to learn well and rely on their tutors’ support? If schools, teachers and very importantly students are serious with their studies, the desire and thought to register WASSCE 2020 Apor will be needless.
Free SHS: WAEC must not drop the WASSCE 2020 question standard
Some students who joined the Whatsapp group even shared their pictures in the said group where this illegal act was been cooked.
Students from public and private SHSs in Ghana have therefore started planning how to procure leaked examination questions and take their fate in the upcoming WASSCE 2020 into their own hands to enable them to pass the dreaded WASSCE.
The WASSCE 2020 Apor group is not the first one that has popped up in recent times. In 2019, a similar thing surfaced. The West African Examination Council very often does not take such publications seriously. There is the need to develop better response strategies to such publications by the examining body to protect and preserve its integrity as well as apply the breaks on persons who engage in these acts.

The 2020 WASSCE examination which will be a case study and an event for measuring the Government’s Free SHS in Ghana is expected to yield positive results giving the huge investments government has made in the youth of this nation at the second cycle schools across the country.
The newsghana24.com team pumped into a WhatsApp group link labeled WASSCE 2020. Upon joining, our team realized that the group had been formed to sell WASSCE questions and solutions to prospecting candidates and interested parents all in an attempt to help students pass through illegal means.

One one the messages shared by group admins is “Authentic and trusted source for delivering questions and answers. Registration for the VVIP group costs 50ghc. After registration, all the eight papers costs 600ghc, without registration, each paper costs 200ghc. Registration is closing on 31st January 2020”
The above implies that one had to register with GHS50 to be added to the group where the questions will be leaked. Students or interested persons were to pay GHS200.00 per paper leaked based on the subjects paid for.
Students who joined the group were requested to give their names as well as their schools.

The above was the request. The illegal business operators also indicated ” We also deal in BECE, NABPTEX, NOV-DEC questions and answers. National service reposting, SHS placements of choice”
If the WASSCE 2020 Apor leakage occurs the WAEC must blame itself for not being proactive enough.
We call on the GES, Head of public basic schools and all relevant stakeholders to ensure, our 2020 BECE and WASSCE candidates get the best training and preparation. We must also make conscious efforts to discourage candidates and parents from patronizing such illegal services.
