“I was temporarily absent from the country on January 24, for personal health reasons , when the Special Prosecutor asked me to attend a face-to-face meeting on Feb 10, 2025, in relation to four “corruption and corruption related cases”. I was neither devising nor implementing Minister in charge of any of these areas. Without delay, I responded through my lawyers, showing how I was willing to provide them with any information that may call for aid in this investigation, given that I will be out of the country for the next few months for medical reasons.
“The Special Prosecutor did not accept the offer to meet with my lawyers, demanding on a firm date for my personal attendance. In place of Tuesday, February 11th, my residence was searched by National Security agents . The Special Prosecutor remarked that I had staged the raid on my own home and, subsequently, launched an international campaign and declared that I was a wanted “fugitive from justice”
