Funny Face, Nakeeyat thrill children at 2026 Love Feast Community Easter Celebration in Accra

Accra, April 6, 2026 — Popular Ghanaian entertainers Funny Face and Nakeeyat brought excitement and laughter to hundreds of children at the 2026 Love Feast – Community Easter Celebration held in Accra on Easter Monday.
The event, organized by the DAP Global Foundation in collaboration with The Outpouring Oasis and PowerRead Africa Foundation, attracted families, children, and young people for a day of fun, learning, and community engagement.
Held at The Outpouring Oasis auditorium, the celebration featured a variety of games and activities including musical chairs, sack races, egg-and-spoon competitions, face painting, and dance contests. Children participated actively, cheering and applauding as winners emerged from the different contests.
A key highlight of the event was a team-based competition between “Team Funny Face” and “Team Nakeeyat.”
At the end of the contest, Team Funny Face secured a decisive victory with 10 points, defeating Team Nakeeyat, which recorded 2 points. The winning team was presented with a trophy for their performance.
Individual participants were also rewarded through a lucky draw segment. Kelvin Fiabor and Michael Boateng each received a cash prize of $200.
In addition, Phoebe Sam was awarded an Android tablet as the third lucky prize winner, while Ohene Adjei Baffour emerged as the fourth lucky prize winner, taking home a cash prize of GH¢200.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, the Founder of DAP Global Foundation, Dr. Amaris N. A. Perbi, said the initiative is aimed at promoting education, inclusion, and empowerment among children across communities.
According to him, the Love Feast project, which began in 2010, has been implemented in several countries including Rwanda and Tanzania, with a focus on supporting children, particularly those from deprived backgrounds.
“We are here to put smiles on the faces of children. It’s Easter, and we believe every child deserves to celebrate with joy, food, and excitement,” he said.
He noted that the initiative also seeks to integrate children from different social backgrounds, helping to build confidence and foster unity.
“We have children from different backgrounds coming together, interacting, and showcasing their talents. It helps them build confidence and feel part of a community,” he added.
Dr. Perbi further revealed that the project includes educational support initiatives, including scholarships and a “perpetual award” scheme which provides financial assistance to children for school needs such as uniforms and books.
Also speaking to the media, comedian Funny Face said his participation was driven by his passion for supporting children and contributing to their development.
“Anything that supports children, I’m always ready to be part of it because they are the future,” he said.
He encouraged parents to expose their children to such events, noting that they help broaden their minds and improve social interaction.
“When children come to events like this, they learn, they interact, and it opens their minds. Parents should make it a point to bring their children out,” he advised.
Beyond entertainment, Funny Face also highlighted his ongoing efforts to engage young people through school visits and upcoming campaigns focused on mental health awareness and drug abuse prevention.
Throughout the event, free meals and refreshments were served to participants, while mentorship and educational activities reinforced messages of hope and personal development.
The Love Feast Community Easter Celebration is an annual initiative by the DAP Global Foundation aimed at fostering unity, compassion, and social inclusion, particularly among vulnerable groups.
Organizers say the event will continue to expand to more communities, including underserved areas, as part of efforts to deepen its impact across Ghana and beyond.
