From cell to spotlight: Hajia4Reall rebrands after prison release

Ghanaian socialite-turned-singer Hajia4Reall, known offstage as Mona Faiz Montrage, has returned to the spotlight following a year-long prison sentence in the United States. Her comeback, marked by bold images and a new single titled We Move, is drawing both praise and criticism.
After disappearing from the public eye due to her involvement in a high-profile romance scam, Hajia4Reall announced her return through music. Her latest track, We Move, was released shortly after she regained her freedom and is accompanied by a striking music video that opens with a dramatic prison scene, an open nod to her legal troubles. In the song, she sings, “If I fall, I go rise,” a lyric that echoes her message of resilience and fresh beginnings.
The release of We Move is more than just a musical statement. It signals her intent to reclaim her place in the entertainment scene. Soon after the song dropped, Hajia4Reall stirred social media with a provocative photoshoot. Dressed in a cowgirl outfit featuring a cropped tank top, vintage jeans, and a hat, it was the daring cut-out on the back of her jeans that drew the most attention; showcasing her curves and sparking a mix of admiration and backlash.
Reactions online have been intense. Some applaud her confidence and savvy rebrand, while others question the boldness of her public image so soon after her prison term. Still, her presence is impossible to ignore, and she appears determined to keep moving forward.
Hajia4Reall was transferred from the UK to the U.S. in May 2023 for her role in a West African criminal ring that carried out internet fraud and romance scams. She was accused of defrauding elderly American victims of over $2 million. Prosecutors stated she received funds from around forty victims, deposited through fraudulent means, including fake gold deals and FBI schemes.
She pleaded guilty in February 2024 and was sentenced on June 28, 2024, by U.S. District Judge J. Paul Oetken. Her sentence included one year in prison, three years of supervised release, give up $216,475, and repay $1,387,458. She was released on May 22, 2025.
